kellybeth, but keelis is her handle and always will be. she created this blog. she loves scifi, eighties music, jazz, poetry, crocheting, baking, her graphing calculator, and all things nerd. she is in chess club, academic quiz bowl, litmag, peer2peer and mock trial. she is a lifelong girl scout. andrew’s girlfriend.
Wyssa
keelis’s partner in crime, alyssa is the sister she never had and always wanted. however, boyfriend erik and other drama has recently caused a drift. she hates andrew.
Andrew
kellybeth’s boyfriend. he is extremely nerdy, being in all the same nerd clubs kelly is in. he is the founder of chess club. he’s an evangelical christian to keelis’s catholic, and this is a constant source of debate between them. he waterskis. his favorite curse word is “belgium” and his favorite word is “gnarly”, though kelly tries desperately to quash the latter habit. an avid Mets fan.
John Bogosta
andrew’s best friend. he’s obnoxious, but we all love him anyway. he acts. he has an obsession with imaginary numbers. he is constantly trying to get alyssa to give him a backrub. the best chess player. john is banned from quiz bowl meetings. he thinks that he is dracula. he is often mistaken for keelis’s boyfriend, because he is chivalrous and carries books and opens doors for any nerdy female in need. he adores his girlfriend, tyler, and always wears her bracelet.
Courtney
keelis’s best friend, and go-to girl if she has any sort of problem because courtney is the most understanding person in the world. she’s also a very talented artist. she is cute, fashionable, witty, and accepting of kelly’s boyfriend.
Ryan McNerney
Mickey Nerns was kelly’s best guy friend. he’s funny and nerdy and a trumpet-playing band geek. also in all the same nerd clubs. a cool guy, all up. though they don’t see each other all that often, keelis constantly references him in conversation.
Julie-wa
julia is keelis’s fellow defense lawyer. she’s the person keelis accidentally calls when she’s about to pass out and tells things she shouldn’t. she loves to talk. she can’t draw. she is also a vital member of the chess club, though she rarely plays chess at meetings. she and kelly draw stick figure cartoons. keelis’s are better. she has recently supplanted alyssa as best bud, due to julie’s constant understanding and alyssa’s sucking face constantly.
Julia
Actually a boy named Brendan. A hypoglycemic vegetarian trekkie. Julie-wa’s prom date.
Jen
julie’s best friend and an honorary member of the nerd circle, and occasional member of mock trial, and a constant source of comfort and hugs. she has a boyfriend named Tom, who is awesome, but who does not get consideration as a seperate entity.
Johmby
his real name is john. don’t tell anyone. a spazzy percussionist and a member of chess club, though he never pays dues. short. extremely attractive to women past middle age. always smiling.
Jackie
she’s obnoxious, but we love her anyway. she reads now. she’s banned from mock trial for being distracting, but has stepped up as calm and adult. a burgeoning alcoholic, she’s still cheerful and fun at all times. best taken in small doses. loves the jonas brothers and sleeps with the jonas brother dolls kelly gave her for her birthday.
Kim
takes keelis to get food. a fellow firefly fan. nerdy in a cool way, with scene hair. she’s quirky and tiny and adorable. her and her boyfriend, alex davis, will be together forever and are the coolest couple ever. she is often seen with ash, keelis’s middle school best friend. she is talented in many ways and is a huge computer geek given the chance. she burps well.
Dani and Dani
Dani Llama is the best person to have around if you feel like passing out. she reads A LOT. her boyfriend will is kinda awesome. dani’s very sweet and often seen at the mall. Dani Walker is poetic and smart and keelis’s soul twin.keelis tells her a lot of things. she’s a good listener and she sings beautifully and writes better.
Ellyn and Jack
the Matlacks are awesome for different reasons. jack, the percussionist with the curly hair, was keelis’s first for-reals boyfriend. ellyn is the youtube obsessed hippie xylophone player who became keelis’s soulmate after jack and keelis were over. ellyn is an incredible artist and loves f. scott fitzgerald. she’s very creative and liberal. she has a music note/peace sign tattoo. ellyn knows everything.

Katie
keelis’s mom and favorite person ever. she’s seven years old at heart, loves teddy bears, and is in general the most amazing person you could possibly have for a mother.

the dad. they clash. nuf said.
Father Tom
the rockingest priest ever, a stand-up comedian and former lawyer who will mention hannah montana or the mets in his homilies. a close friend of joe. danny and brian call him “uncle father tom”.
Nana
keelis’s grandma and one of alyssa’s favorites people. slightly adorable.
Kaity Vonderheyde
A brilliant, funny gal. She’s a froodette who literally knows where her towel is; she had it in her purse the day she met kelly, four years ago.
