Casey and I decided it is imperative that we bring about social, economic, and environmental change.

The basic premise of money is that it represents work effort–and therefore energy. Wasting money may then be interpreted as wasting energy.

Food: food contains energy, measured in calories. It takes effort (energy) to produce processed food which give less energy in return. Therefore, wasted energy. Wasting food is wasting energy. Consuming too much, then burning off that stored energy selfishly is also wasting energy that cold be otherwise allocated to a third world country.

Energy=money=food

Fossil fuels are not sustainable, but ethanol takes far too much effort to produce, is detrimental to fuel economy, and equally detrimental to the environment. Prarieland and rainforests are being converted into crop land for very little return, and it is driving food prices ever higher. We are not correctly utilizing the energy given us.

Lawns. They use up water and nutrients with no usable energy return. What happened to the days of old, when victory gardens made use of valuable land space to produce food for us. We must reclaim those days.
